About

A Church Rooted in Faith and Serving Our Community

For 200 years, Mount Auburn Church has been a place where people gather to worship, grow in their faith, care for one another, and serve the community.

Located in Greenwood, Indiana, Mount Auburn is a nonprofit Christian congregation serving Greenwood, Johnson County, and communities beyond. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to join us as we follow Jesus Christ and put our faith into action.

Our Mission

The mission of Mount Auburn Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who:

Worship Passionately

We worship one God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Through prayer, music, Scripture, preaching, and the sacraments, we seek to grow closer to God and live lives fully devoted to Him.

Love Extravagantly

Jesus calls us to love God wholeheartedly and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We seek to demonstrate the love of Christ through compassion, generosity, encouragement, hospitality, and practical care for others.

Witness Boldly

We have been entrusted with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We share that message through our words, our actions, and the ways we serve people in our community and throughout the world.

Faith in Action

Our mission extends beyond Sunday worship. Mount Auburn provides opportunities for people to learn, serve, build relationships, and make a difference throughout every stage of life.

Worship and Discipleship

We gather each Sunday for traditional and contemporary worship. Throughout the week, Bible studies, life groups, classes, prayer gatherings, and discipleship opportunities help people understand Scripture and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Children, Students, and Families

Mount Auburn provides Christ-centered ministries for children, middle school students, high school students, young adults, parents, and families. These ministries offer age-appropriate teaching, worship, fellowship, service opportunities, and caring relationships.

Mount Auburn Daycare is also a ministry of Mount Auburn Church. It provides a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment for children while supporting families in Greenwood and Johnson County.

Community Care

We believe the church is called to care for people facing difficult circumstances. Through benevolence ministries, food and clothing drives, school partnerships, volunteer projects, prayer, and other forms of assistance, Mount Auburn works to meet practical needs and encourage individuals and families.

Our ministries have supported local students experiencing food insecurity, families needing utility assistance, children needing coats and school supplies, individuals with mobility needs, and organizations serving people throughout Johnson County.

Local and Global Missions

Mount Auburn supports missionaries, nonprofit organizations, disaster-relief efforts, and Christian ministries serving people locally and around the world.

Members of the Mount Auburn family participate through financial support, prayer, donation drives, mission trips, volunteer projects, and hands-on community service. We believe everyone can play a part in sharing the love of Christ and serving others.
